This thesis frankly only exists because I wanted to see if I could do it. Undertaking every aspect of production on my own was both a creative and intellectual challenge that felt like a fitting display of the commitment the Schreyer Honors College required in my coursework during my Penn State career. I not only learned to wear a lot of hats, but also when to replace hats, or rather, stack one on top of the other, like in Esphyr Slobodkina’s children’s book Caps for Sale. I had the pleasure of working with an incredibly talented group of people who made the balancing easy.
